O FILMU
Palestinské rodiny žily v oblasti Masáfer Jatta na Západním břehu Jordánu po generace. Jako tisíce dalších dnes ale čelí nucenému vystěhovávání z oblasti. Jejich snaha dobrat se spravedlnosti a odpor k odsunu se setkává jen s další šikanou a ozbrojeným násilím.
Básel bezmocně přihlíží demolici domu své rodiny, na jehož místě vzniká výcviková zóna izraelské armády. Báselova rodina se musí s několika zachráněnými věcmi přesunout do jeskyně. Muž začne dění v osadě i přes výhrůžky a útoky izraelských vojáků natáčet a sdílet online, čímž se aktivně přidává k protestům.
V nebezpečné atmosféře konfliktu se rodí křehké přátelství mezi Báselem a izraelským novinářem Juvalem, spolu s nímž muž dokumentuje násilné vysídlování i neutuchající odhodlání vesničanů v rodné zemi zůstat.

Basel Adra, a young Palestinian activist from Masafer Yatta, has been fighting his community's mass expulsion by the Israeli occupation since childhood. Basel documents the gradual erasure of Masafer Yatta, as soldiers destroy the homes of families - the largest single act of forced transfer ever carried out in the occupied West Bank. He crosses paths with Yuval, an Israeli journalist who joins his struggle, and for over half a decade they fight against the expulsion while growing closer. Their complex bond is haunted by the extreme inequality between them: Basel, living under a brutal military occupation, and Yuval, unrestricted and free. This film, by a Palestinian-Israeli collective of four young activists, was co-created during the darkest, most terrifying times in the region, as an act of creative resistance to Apartheid and a search for a path towards equality and justice.
🇵🇸 KINO PALESTINE is a series of screenings featuring Palestinian films and discussions with Palestinian filmmakers within Prague’s cultural scene and beyond, on-going since December 2023. These screenings aim to provide a platform to amplify Palestinian voices, bring the Palestinian narrative to the city and solidify solidarity from the art and cultural scene with Palestinians and Palestinian artists.
